The Union Public Service Commission will going to hold a Screening Test for selection to Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination, 2018 through Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2018 which will be held on 3rd June, 2018.

UPSC conducts Indian Forest Services Exam for recruitment to forestry services of India. From 2013, exam pattern has changed. A new component of screening mechanism through Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination has been added.

Name of the Examination: Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination, 2018

Educational Qualification: The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering of any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification.

Age Limit : Age of the candidates should be 21-32 years as on 01-08-2018 (i.e. he/she must have been born before than 2nd August, 1986 and not later than 1st August, 1997). Age relaxation is applicable 05 years for SC/ ST, 03 years for OBC candidates as per rules.

Selection Process:
 The Indian Forest Service Examination will consist of two successive stages:
(i) Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination (Objective type) for the selection of candidates for the Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination; and
(ii) Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination (Written and Interview) for the selection of candidates for the Indian Forest Service.

Examination Fee: Candidates have to pay Rs.100/- either by depositing the money in any Branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of State Bank of India or by using Visa/Master/RuPay Credit/Debit card. no fee for Female/ SC/ ST/ PH candidates.
Applicants who opt for “Pay by Cash” mode should print the system generated Pay-in-slip during part II registration and deposit the fee at the counter of SBI Branch on the next working day only. “Pay by Cash” mode will be deactivated at 23.59 hours of 05.03.2018 i.e. one day before the closing date;

CSAT Prelims Exam Pattern

The UPSC Prelim Exam consists of two papers of Objective type (multiple choice questions) and carry maximum of 400 marks. This exam is only a screening test; the marks obtained in the prelims are only for qualifying for main exam and are not counted for determining final order of merit.

In General Studies Paper – II, minimum qualifying marks is 33%. You will be selected for Mains exam based total qualifying marks of General Studies Paper – I.
